Why I chose the name Universal By Design
I chose the name Universal By Design because it reflects my commitment to global, diverse, cutting edge, and detail-oriented solutions now and in the future.
It’s more than a job to me; the world of publishing and entrepreneurship is in my history and in my DNA. My family have been pioneers in the business and publishing worlds for over a century.
My great grandfather, Jacob Dybwad, along with his brother Christopher Andreas Dybwad, were Norwegian booksellers and publishers, as well as pioneers in the publishing trade, being the founders of the publishing company and bookstore Jacob Dybwad A/S in Oslo, Norway, which was in operation for over 135 years.
Jacob Dybwad was appointed Knight of the Order of St. Olav, which is used to reward individuals for remarkable accomplishments on behalf of the country and humanity.
The Royal Norwegian Order of Saint Olav was instituted by King Oscar I. Since 1985, appointments to the order has only been conferred upon Norwegian citizens, though foreign heads of state and royalty can be appointed as a matter of courtesy. You can see the Wikipedia page here.
